We welcomed three visitors from INRA, France: Annie Marion-Poll (Senior scientist )、Christian Dubos (Research scientist) and Julien Sechet (PhD student)

They kindly bought various kinds of fresh French cheeses and bottles of wine!

At the end of the party, a surprise gift was given to Mashiguchi san,leaving for California Univ. next week.
 
   
It was not a simple T-shirt. Cheerful messages from all of lab members were written on it.

He will be staying at our lab as a JSPS Fellowship for two months.

She has come back to RIKEN from July. Ex-member of Kamiya lab.


・Takaaki Nishijima （National Institute of Floricultural Science, Tsukuba）:
He stayed at RIKEN for a few days for a collaborative research.

However, we are sweltering a lot!

Because of saving electricity, the air-conditioner at the venue was switched-off.

Today, we had a lab party at RIKEN.

It was the party for:
1) welcoming Prof. Peter Hedden (Rothamsted Research, UK) who will stay with us for 2 months, three temporally visitors (Ms. Annie Marion-Poll, Ms. Helen North, Mr. Francois Perreau from INRA, France), and Nambara san (University of Toronto).
2) congratulating Umehara san on receiving The JSPCMB Award for Young Scientists
3) celebrating childbirth of Seo san
4) sending -off for Jikumaru san


The INRA members kindly brought delicacies for us: various kinds of French cheeses and red / white wines, which were sooooo yammmmy!


Anyway, we shared the pleasurable night with such an int’l atmosphere!

Prof. Peter Hedden, visiting our lab

Prof. Peter Hedden (Rothamsted Research, UK) will be staying with us for 2 months.


He is a plant hormone chemist and has been working on gibberellin biosynthesis and signaling for almost 40 years.
He graduated the chemistry department of Bristol University in UK.
He was also an ex-president of the International Plant Growth Substance Association.

Sven Nelson san (Washington State University, USA) stayed in our lab for experiment and analysis for a couple days.
